Sinking thoughts
A beautiful sink with relief carvings of water lilies became the inspiration for the custom finished cabinet in this elegant powder room. The Art Nouveau lines and curves of the sink are echoed in the apron, which forms a graceful ellipse.
The pewter-gray mirror frame is enhanced with a stone finish and echoes the same carvings. The cabinet was hand-painted on site with a glaze to match the sink color. A copper glaze adorns the crown molding, ceiling and mirror frame carvings. The soft earth tones of the honed travertine marble flooring are reproduced on the walls.
This room earned a first-place award in the powder room category of the National Kitchen and Bath Association's 2003 Design Competition
