The poor daffodils in the garden are frozen solid now. The steel casement windows in the living room have a thick layer of ice on the inside. A complete stranger stopped me a few blocks from where will live informing or it wasn't too cold inside our house, this empathy warms me up a bit, but the fun...

In this part of the word it is supposed to be summer. It's has been only rain and cold weather for the last two months (low 50s in the evening). I am sitting here with a blanket on my lap because the boiler broke down.

My former house,build in the 60s, had clay pipes. I just read that they still make the pipes, they are promoted as a green solution.

Indeed. It looks like a good setup, but a bit complicated to get in place.

Now I use Hemp rope that I install in Autumn and remove in Spring. It works fine for me.
