Re: Bat Urine Odor Remover

While the subject of "bats" is up again, I have to ask if anyone knows how I can dispose of these critters when I start tearing down the drywall (and yes, insulation too) that's on my attic ceiling. It's still pretty chilly here, so we figured it'd be a good time to start this project before we get ...

Avatars are fun, Schag! I vote to turn them on! I'd like to put an exterior pic of my old house as my avatar and keep my signature for something more philosophically entertaining (as soon as I think of something) :?

My original thought was the same as yours but from what I understand, that beam was a recent addition. I guess the PO thought the ceiling was going to come down and instead of correcting the problem she put the beam up. There's no sign that a wall was ever there...the floor shows no repairs at all. ...

We moved to Arkansas from just outside New Orleans.....Picayune, MS. I know what you mean about the mess. The closest flooding was Slidell, but the wind damage destroyed our yard (32 trees down) and left the house with some wierd things happening to it.

Anyway.....small world.

rncx, I'm in Batesville....oldest existing city in Arkansas! Lots of old homes here...the historic district is quite large. I haven't been inside any of the other old homes here yet, but I'm anxious to know if maybe some have similarities to mine! I'm not familiar with what's original as opposed to ...

Here are a few pics of the old girl. We're using the "Library" as one of only two rooms that could possibly be a bedroom...it has the second entry from the front porch. We keep trying to figure out where everyone slept since we were told the upstairs had never been finished originally (wish I could ...

Can anyone tell what the porch may have looked like originally? You can tell the posts have been replaced at some point and the cutouts are rotting. When we bought the house, there were vines covering the entire right side making their way to the roof....under shingles, siding, and through windows (...

Thanks for all the wonderful comments, I have to tell you that pictures can obviously be deceiving though, LOL!! We got the place for a steal, the biggest reason being the arguement I won over the roof. The PO decided to make an apartment upstairs and we believe she altered the roof supports leaving...

What do I have?

I've been one of those lurking in the shadows behind drafty windows & doors and bats in the attic...LOL. We bought this old house last spring....it's just an old house, but it kept calling me. The ONLY thing I know about it's history is that it was built in 1896. Does anyone have a clue as to what I...
