He passed away last fall, and his widow had me come over to get it running again after she ran out of fuel. When I went over to check it out I found out...

CHEAP HEAT

A couple of weeks ago I asked about how to make methane gas. Well I have been doing lots of research on this subject since. If a person has access to a lot of compost able materials, it is entirely feasible to get at least some nearly free heat. It certainly has my interest and this next spring I wi...

Watch them strip it off

I had a helper working for me who had previously worked for a fly by night roofer. He said on a roof where there were several layers, they would wait until the homeowner would be gone to strip the roof. One day I was checking out different information on this website and ran across this Idea. I thought I would try it but I had no great expectations, because if it...

Mother Earth News methane generator

Many years ago when I was in my twenties I used to read Mother Earth News. I would read about people who lived off the grid. Some of them had vehicles and heating systems which ran off of methane which the made them selves out of yard waists. Why don't we hear about that any more?

Heating Fuel Comparison Questions

I am considering reactivating my old radiators which were previously used as part of a steam system. The system is still operational, just not used any more. The boiler was fired by diesel. I would now make it a hot water system . Does any one know or has anyone done a comparison as to what fuel is ...
