Your house has been remuddled by a PO. I don't think the round columns go with the house at all. I would think there is a support post in the center of the column. More than likely there were decorated column wraps around the post that would give it dimension.Someone has also removed all decorative ...

It is my understanding that if you have elements of your house that are historical (grandfathered in) you do not have to bring those elements up to current codes and standards unless you are replacing them. Some of those corbels may need to be replaced and perhaps we can make a trade. An old rotten one (needs to be somewhat stable) for new ones
