Help! Need cabinet decision ASAP

o, I went out to Brimfield Antique Fair today, thinking I would pass along business cards to folks who could help me find an antique kitchen. Lo and behold, I may have found it. I found 5 cabinets, torn out of an apartment in Columbus OH. McDougall cabinets from the same period of my house (late 192...

Yay! Found a replacement car and 2 more architect recommendations. The planning for Smelly House Life Deux (it has 9 lives, right???) restarts!

Saw 2 trees punch holes in houses, and one of my neighborhood streets is still blocked, but relatively speaking, all is okay. Hoping Kristin is okay. IIRC, she is just outside NYC in suburban NJ. I understand Bergen County go...

Re: Kitchen Range reccomendations

Jeremy..... I had this in the condo, and liked it. http://www.frigidaire.com/products/Kitchen/gas-electric-ranges/FFGF3027LS.aspx I second the recommendation about gardenweb. A wealth of info there and where I did most of my research prior to buying. Might also check Chowhound. Quite frankly though,...

Looking for large butler's pantry

Well... I had my first architect visit on Friday (thanks Jade!!!!) and the loved my kitchen layout :-). I will likely be a few months (up to 6) before I actually finalize a design and begin re-building the smelly house.... ....but in the meantime.... ....I am in the hunt for a good sized butler's pa...

Re: Buying old 'new' replacement trim

This is a GREAT website. I am sad to see these houses being torn down, but I'd rather see the parts being reused instead of ending up in a dumpster somewhere (like my neighbor's house). I'm on their mailing list.

Thanks

Jen

Re: Problem with Framing--need help

Hi Lupin... Welcome back! This definately seems like a (more) workable solution since in its current formation, the notched stud isn't carrying it's full load. I'm no expert, but wondering if this might help... http://forums.finehomebuilding.com/breaktime/construction-techniques/add-window-balloon-f...
