Re: Hot Water Radiator Questions
Hi: I too am fixing up and painting the radiators in my home. I have got four done so far. In the case of two of them, I scraped and repainted in place, the other two were smaller and with the help of a couple guys, we were able to move them out of the house and scrape/repaint out in the garage. Lar...

Re: Where can I find a light-switch like this?
One note: those switches seem to be rated for 10 amp. I suspect you'll need something rated for 15 amp to be "legal" in the Us and Canada......

Re: painting technique question
Well, I decided to try the tape method.. HUGE mistake. I put the tape up and then, before starting to paint, I thought I would remove some tape just to be sure it would work out nicely. Nope. Took a bunch of the beautiful ceiling paint with it. (Used the delicate version of the green tape) To...

Re: Paint Brand- What to go with for exterior
Neighbour of mine (who has a beautiful old home) uses Benjamin Moore. swears by it. He repainted a few years ago and it looks great. I use Pratt and lambert Accolade myself. I painted about the same time as he did and my paint looks like new also (It's about 5 years now since I painted on the south ...

Re: need advice on re-pointing
PLEASE start at the bottom. You don't want the extra weight of the mortar on the loose or none existent mortar joints below. ALWAYS start at the bottom. WE had a chimney last year that had joints where the mortar was completely gone. The professional that did the repoint left it al in place except t...

Re: Insulating Stone Foundation
Hi: I live in southern ontario...cold winters and have that stone foundation issue also. I have been told that a vapour tight insulation would accelerate the degradation of the foundation. I have been told that stone foundations do need to breathe and that spraying those poly insulants on it would r...

Hi: Fixing up the old bathroom and I need to do some painting (half of walls and ceiling) Does anyone have a paint they are particularily happy with for use in a bathroom environment (moisture resistance, mildew resistance, holds it's sheen over time) I have yet to find a paint that stands up well w...
