Re: NO MORE SPAM: Forum has been upgraded
I'm seeing a bunch of spam on the boards. This is exactly the type of spammer that I had to deal with every day, and the reason I'm not doing it anymore. An admin has to check the boards several times every day to keep on top of it. There used to be a way to ban by IP, but that hasn't worked in a co...

Re: Big water leak...a complete freaking mystery!
It was on the pigtail pipe just past the meter that connects to my line.If the leak was on the utility side of the meter, how could the meter have registered the extra flow?!?

Re: Big water leak...a complete freaking mystery!
I guess i should have come back to this and told about the solution. I found a wet spot by the water meter and dug some. Turns out that the water was flowing down and under the street keeping me from noticing it in the first place. I found a small hole in the pipe and called the water company. They ...

Re: The Boards are now back open...
Could you set the user activation policy to require admin/mod approval? That way, the spammers won't be able to get in over the weekend when you're away. It's probably much easier to approve new users (the fake ones will normally be quite obvious) rather than having to delete the spam accounts. Tha...

The Boards are now back open...
I've reactivated the boards for new users. I am also at the end of my rope trying to moderate all by myself. Please let me know if anyone might be interested in gaining Moderator access. I'm really only doing this out of habit and really no longer care if this board gets eaten up by spammers. I have...

Re: Cast Iron pipe and strange clay thingy --what is it?
I learned today that what I thought was Orangeberg is actually just called clay tile pipe.
Orangeberg was really made of waxy cardboard.

Re: Cast Iron pipe and strange clay thingy --what is it?
That's called Orangeberg Tile. The clay looks a lot like pipe that was used for wastewater back in the day. Could be terra cotta or another material.
It's a sewer line.
