Re: old kitchens

marylu I LOVE your kitchen! The sink is great, those cabinets are gorgeous. A room like that I could work in, eat in and still be able to relax and admire the beauty of it all.

Re: Any idea a reason for so many exterior doors?

Re: Any idea a reason for so many exterior doors?

In PA, there's a vernacular type of farmhouse that always had two front doors right next to each other. This was for the tracdition that your guests never saw the living quarters of your house. They could enter directly into the sitting room for a visit. Old tradition, but signs of it dominate the ...

There are two in the back, two on the front porch, one on the side, one upstairs leading to the porch landing. The house isn't ver...

Re: I miss my ghosts!!

I lived in a house we had a lease option on for a few months. I still swear there was something in that house. I can't even remember how many times things would come up missing and I would search and hunt all over only to come back later to find it in plain sight or exactly where I had left it. One ...

Re: old kitchens

The rolling ladder and tall ceilings and tons of cabinets sounds great. Wish I'd have the ceilings and room and money for that lol. I used to have a small house with a small but super functional kitchen. It had a U shaped area and the cabinets went all the way to the ceiling (standard height). They ...
