Yah! All they need is a mini-fridge. A room like that would almost make me look forward to winter with that great Southern exposure and the french doors. Man! Lucky! :P

Thanks! It IS a cozy place to hang out. And in the warm months, with the French doors open to the outside and all the casement windows above the bed cranked open, it's like sleeping in a tree house!

We have three bedrooms. This one I just recently redecorated - Ian moved out and I could fumigate and make it girly -- so he'd not be tempted to move back (bad momma!)

This is Bryan's room - rarely looks like this

The master bedroom - is pretty good sized and has morning and evening lite.

That is a beautiful quilt on the bed in Ian's former room. Do you know the name of the pattern?

This is the master bedroom. The would-be closet door (small window) was taken off and the original shelves inside are used for all our books. It's very handy for late-night reading. It even has the original light bulb on a cord with a pull chain. The windows are 8-over-1 originals with the rope put back. There is no TV in this bedroom. That's about as 1911 as this gets. Oh, and the crochet work was all done by my husband's grandmother as gifts for us.

We had ten bedrooms when we purchased this place but are down to six. Many of these pics are pre us when it was an inn so I'm working on redecorating, not a lot, piece of furniture here and there, really more edit than anything else. I'll probably go nuts with paint come summer:

This is the third floor maids room, called the garden suite:
Image

It has an obnoxious mural which I swore would be gone within a week of moving in, but there it still sits:
Image

It's going to take a lot of primer to kill that mural :) I haven't decided what color the room will be but I'm thinking a soft yellow or green.

This is also a maid's room on the third floor with wonderful views of the old custom's house and the bay:
Image

Don't you love the picture with the horrible daisy's? It appears somewhat vangoughish, without the actual value of a painting done by a nutcase. Perhaps the garden suite wall was inspired by it....

Our main guest room is about 30'x20' so it takes two pics. The little nook is a serious child, cat and dog magnet:

The horrific shade remains, but all of this ugly furniture is gone. The fireplace is unfortunately cut into the wall (I tried to crowbar it LOL) and it will be removed this summer to be replaced by something fake but pretty like this stove that is in the basement:

Image

What's with the accent wall colors? Victorians didn't do accent walls LOL They will go!

My son's bedroom....too pink and too floral for the poor boy. I'm working on making it a train room with posters from the alaska railroad, a railroad lamp and a suspended antique train:
Image

The bedroom set we will keep but reduce back to a full size and put the foot board on it. It was the original owners daughter's bedroom set. DS does not like this room so I have to get to work on it soon....this is is old bedroom (still his but at the house in alaska):
Image

This is the master suite, which used to be 40x20 including a dressing room and bathroom which we'll replace. It's more like 18x20 now but still has the sitting area. Our views are of tour busses stopping in front of the house LOL And of the ferry and bay if I look over the top of the busses. One day I'm going to go out and invite a bus full in for a tour for grins and giggles:

I am entertaining a brick, burgundy or forest green for the walls....eventually we'll do bradbury type wall paper but not until we redo the suite as I'm told it's too expensive for temporary and that I can't hang it myself...I don't want to know what it costs...I just want it LOL

This is my mother's room when she visits and the future nursery if we're lucky. More horrific accent walls but it has a private balcony and views of the bay...but check out the furniture...the carving is amazing. It was left to the house from the estate of a woman who stayed here while it was a hospital:

The North Bedroom is almost complete. The wall color is Polished Pewter.
The 1940s telephone belonged to my Grandmother Eva--her phone number is still on the dial. Dickens 35-123.

Above is a well worn Easlake style table. Jon recently cleaned it up and re-glued it. I've just discovered though, one leg is shorter than the others and needs a little felt pad to even it out. Aren't antiques fun? They have their own little problems--just like human beings--just like me and my unreliable knee.
Image
The sleigh bed is very comfortable and matches a 1930 walnut veneered chest of drawers I purchased almost 30 years ago from Irving and Myrtle Boe. It was their first piece of furniture when they got married in 1930.

The floors are painted pine. For the moment I've thrown down a rug and will leave them as they are.
I'll post a few more photos later . . . I have some fun art work from the 30s to hang and a bookcase to install on the east wall.
