Looking for some inspiration for a white and blue bathroom, all very simple, just free-standing wood cabinets. At the moment it is a horrible 1970's wallpapered mess!

We're working away on our bathroom reno that we started in February, but it's starting to come together! I finally got the original rimlock back in working order on a freshly stripped, sanded, and painted door.

We're still plugging away at it. Well, not really. Things are at a wee bit of a stand still. I'm determined that we'll finish it before we head out west in February for our wedding.

Since this picture, we've grouted, but still need to seal it. We need to recreate and install baseboards, hang some hooks for towels, and also cut a hole in the floor for a heat register. We know we should have done this BEFORE tiling, but...that's what happens when you don't know what you're doing and DIYing everything...

The house never did have one and I was reluctant to make such drastic changes. Showering outside in the summer and in the stall with the goats in the winter was working out good for me but Cecile really wanted a bathroom. It was decided to locate it upstairs next to the chimney with access for smoking hams and bacon etc... The concept is attic and in the tub nook I have reproduced the construction of the old time roofs, that is to say round unformed rafters, chicken wire, tar paper. For the rest the material is second hand and lime and clay with cow manure plasters.

I knew how hard that was to line up on a floor...I couldn't imagine doing it on a ceiling!!
