OMG all those goreous rooms!!
I can only hope my little house will look half that great when we get her done.

Here's ours. This is one of the most original rooms in the house. With the exception of electric lighting, the radiators and the entry door, we believe everything in this room is just as it was when the house built in the 1890s.

Great dining room. Love it all down to the phonograph. Funny I was thinking of inquiring yesterday as to how many have phonographs and such. I've got an oldish wood record player/radio that is a total project that I hope to restore some day. It has books that hold the records and I have to find someone who does binding because those need recovered, then I need to refinish the wood and get it back in working order. I wish I had a garage so I could get some of these projects at least started.

Utopia - can you believe I bought those lace panels at Wally World for a few bucks each? They were supposed to be temporary until I found something permanent. That was about five years ago. LOL I do like the way using panels on a spring tension rod exposes the window moldings, but with all these windows the dining room could use some heavy panels in the winter.

rehabbin' - I found that Victrola on CL a couple of years ago and bought it for DH. It still works but I think it could use an overhaul. The turntable sounds like it needs to be oiled, or maybe needs a new belt and its difficult to regulate the speed. I have no idea how to do any of that, but figure I can research it in my spare time (whenever that is). This is just one of many projects that I have lined up to do "someday", but in the meantime, it looks pretty and we still use it occasionally.

DPsours...I've been trying to remember where the heck I saw "that" light fixture! Thank you for posting it to remind me LOL I have to show it to DH who swears this one is from the 70's...


Any chance for a close up of the beadwork so I can replace mine?

Greetings Queen Anne Vic!!! What a stunning room! I really like that wallpaper...do you have a closer shot? That color is so rich...a perfect fit!

[Old Colonial]

I did the dining room in 2006. All the woodwork is new except for the original floor. The original fireplace was long gone and a chimney for the furnace stuck out in the room. To conceal it, I built the wall between the kitchen and dining room about 18 inches deep and built in pantry cupboards on each side of the doorways. I built all the cabinets, wainscoting and the raised panel wall.

Ever try to install a large object with nothing plumb, nothing level, and nothing square. Lots of scribing and leveling. Its fun.
