We have been very lucky with our acquisitions. All of it has come from within the US. Our Austrian pottery collections, however, have mostly come from Austria which is slow going.

We have some really nice repro Wiener Werkstatte material which is still made by the original manufacturer. I found about 6 yards of DH's favorite Otto Pruscher fabric in a junk shop for $2.50. We might cover the Thonet settee and chairs (with the pale gray fabric in the photo) with it.

Our Kammerer set is really nice and was reupholstered in Hoffmann's "Lampen" fabric and the fabric is upside down. Dead give away that it was upholstered in the US and not Austria! It's okay, though. It's still nice.

Here is the living room of our new aquisition, though this is as we bought it furniture etc. came with the place with a few exceptions like my walker and shoes LOL.










We have a lot of work to do here but this is what we have to work with anyway.

Just curious if you've peeked in your ceiling. My first reaction when I saw the pic was that your ceiling was lowered. The ceiling height seems low to me....

No that is the original ceiling, plaster but it does have a lot of places where it was cut and patched to run electric lines etc.
ceiling is 9 foot. the ceiling in the dining room next to it is about 4 inches lower and is a drop ceiling you know panels and grid, HAS TO GO. anyway above that one is nothing just second floor joists, wiring, plumbing etc.

We had a lot of luck at estate sales this weekend.

Possibly the best find was this sweet oak display table.

It was kind of an afterthought. When I was doing all the layout work to build the raised panel walls, I found I had a little bit of space that was hard to access inside the closet under the stairs, and I have this "thing" about using every possible inch of space I can find. So, I built a little bar in there. If you push on the right panel, it pops open and there's 6 rocks glasses, and a bottle of brandy, a bottle of whiskey, and a bottle of scotch on glass shelves, Nice for those cold evenings by the fire, and I'm too lazy to go to the kitchen.
