Anyone know anything about this style home?

Here is where you can show off the pictures of your old home.

I would say your home started out as an Italianate and is older than 1900, more 1870's perhaps. The staircase screams Italianate as does the double door opening and arched window openings.

I love these old homes. They're all beautiful! Can any tell me about the architecture style of the cottages shown in this historic photo? I also posted a new subject about Yellow Diamonds on roofs of historic cottages. One of these resort cottages (shown in the rear of the photo) is attached to our local museum in Calistoga, CA. They were built in 1860 by the town founder, Sam Brannan, also know as California's first millionaire. The town is just north of San Francisco. We've been told the style is Italianate Victorian but that's not verified. What we're really trying to find out about is the large diamonds that you can see painted on the rooftops of all the resort buildings and cottages. We believe they were bright yellow (I think there's a color photo somewhere). No one can tell us (at the museum) the significance of the diamond shape and color. We have heard that it might have some kind of masonic or druidic meaning. Can anyone tell us about this style and strange rooftop images. Thank you. -DeAnn Wylie, Historian

I'm going to piggy back off my original post, it's been bugging my for a while but in one of our front rooms (we use as a formal room) has different trim from the rest of the house. It has a zebra/tiger pattern on the trim, not sure if it's a design in the actual wood. Then on the edges it has a wavy squiggly design. This pattern is on the door trim, window trim and baseboard. I would love any information. Thanks!!

I also think this is a Georgian Colonial style, however, when I prepared a research paper about Georgian style homes, there wasn't this kind of house...
