Anyone know anything about this style home?

Post by teenie8908 »

My husband & I recently bought a 1900's brick house and want to find out as much as we can about it. I would especially like to know what style it is? I thought maybe a Georgian, but I didn't think they normally have wrap around porches. Thanks!!

I wonder if the porch was added at a later date?

Without it, I would call it a colonial style brick house.

Either way it is a very nice looking house!

Could be a Georgian Colonial with the porch added after the fact. It is a very attractive house. How about some pics of the inside?

Thanks so much. I'm completely in love with this house. My husband and I hope we know what we're taking on since we're only 24yrs old. Haha. I'm not sure if the porch is original. It might have been added at a later date. I'm planning to take a trip to the local court house to do some research of its past. I will post some of the pictures before we started the renovation and as soon as we are done, I'll post the afters.

Can I piggyback in your thread? Because I'm buying a home that I would love to know more about -- is it a particular style, or just a one-off? :)

might be considered as a georgian, it is a very nice house nevertheless, looks spatial as well, you're lucky to own it

I promised that when we finished our remodeling we would post an update. So here is my promise fulfilled.
It was a long 5 months with still work to do outside but the inside is finished. Enjoy. :D
