REMOVING MASKING TAPE FROM WINDOWS
THE PRE 1920 HOME WE JUST BOUGHT HAS MASKING TAPE AROUND ALL WINDOWS. DON'T ASK ME WHY. HOW DO I REMOVE THE STICKY RESIDUE THAT IS LEFT WHEN I PEEL THE TAPE OFF?
Re: REMOVING MASKING TAPE FROM WINDOWS
I'd try rubbing alcohol or fingernail polish remover. If that gets some but not all of it off, maybe Bon Ami would help.

If some tape residue is left on the glass, a razor blade will do the trick.
Re: REMOVING MASKING TAPE FROM WINDOWS
As a native of the Virginia Beach area, we had LOTS of hurricane warnings and we went through LOTS of masking tape for the windows.
To remove the sticky residue, spray on WD-40 and just let it sit for a moment. Then use a razor blade to scrape off the mess.
WD-40 also works on price tags and anything with adhesive.
Also works on duct-tape messies.

Believe it or not so does peanut butter! I have used it to even remove stickers that car dealers slap on your bumper for advertisement!

Try some gas on a rag. I find this is the only thing that works.

Cooking Oil - Vegetable Oil will work well. Rub a small amount with a paper towel. Works great for mirrors and most glass objects.
