Thanks for bringing this to our attention, McCall, we have been blocking IP addresses that spammers were using, and unfortunately this seems to have caused some non-spammers to be banned. We are removing the block now, sorry for the hassle!

I'd say that one of the issues is that there is still a steady flow of spam. I got tired of hitting the alert button.

Are we getting spammed again? I post often in the pre-1900s section, and there seems to be quite a few replies by people with broken english. Perhaps they're just illiterate...

Hi everyone,

Yes, we are seeing quite a few spammers who are actually responding to other posts in order to create the illusion of being legitimate members... so they can spam the board. We are deleting these posts as quickly as we can. Our developer is also adding a modification that will hopefully help combat this, or at least make the process of spamming more laborious.

Newbie here, and have not seen any problems. Don't mind the moderation approval period for incoming mails to you. At least you are watching. Interesting to see that all the people who ran to the "other" forum are experiencing the same problem, from the same people. Someone mentioned a "study" and a "pill". Wasteful time and money. Catch them, and pull the trigger on a 45 Magnum placed between their eyes. Lucky, I guess, no other email spam problems either. Have fun, where ever you hang out.
