Steel garage--how do I paint/repaint?

I was wondering if an automotive paint can be used to paint the steel garage. Because I have a couple of pint lying in my basement unused when I painted my Bushwacker Fender Flares.

First step is, with a soft bristle brush, to remove mildew and other surface contaminants. Rinse thoroughly with water and use a powder cleanser and then rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Use a high quality acrylic latex exterior paint. Do not use oil-based paint.
