I want a 1930s fridge!

Melissa, I once heard someone refer to their kitchen as "industrial farmhouse" and I like the sound of that.
So that monitor top would fit right in.... my house is 1904 and those early photos of the rather austere kitchens with some cupboards/ worktables / old stove, fridge, wall hung sink really appeal to me. I have a small amt of cabinetry and am planning to add more open shelves & freestanding cabinets.

Cadrad, after seeing how much they're charging for even very rusty monitor tops Im thinking I want to organize a search party and go looking in the dump - how long ago was it? (I'm only half joking there!) I too had one years ago that I got rid of - gave to a historical society after people kept telling me that the old sulphur dioxide refrigerant was explosive and people in the old days every now and then would be killed by their fridge.

If this was for sell in NC I would be ALL over it. But that is a long way to ship something. Would likely cost as much as the purchase.
Was on a tour of homes several years ago and the docent(who clearly did not know the home owners) was talking about their monitor top fridge and said they must have another fridge somewhere because obviously this one is just for looks. I asked her why she thought that and she said well one this old can't still be running. I reached over and opened the door and she was shocked to see it was literally crammed full and obviously working. Those things are tanks, they will usually outlive the owners.
But you DO have to have a freezer, cause two ice trays is about all the will hold in the freezer section if you can call it that.

I have one thats in good shape and works well. If you want it is on craigs list, I just put it on yesterday you can see it under south jersey (antiques) the id # is4645505640 there is 4pictures of it. If you like my phone # is 561-598-2694 Mark. They are nice and not electricity eaters runs on 2.2 amps of current
