Re: Meth lab
Some of them become condemned as environmental hazards and the cleanup is so expensive that they end up torn down. Be VERY careful of your vacant or rental property.

Re: Meth lab
daniel is correct. sadly even some of the responsible landlords i know have retained properties which are hideously contaminated due to meth cooking. to me it has a really sick sweet smell rather like cream soda.
now it is possible to manufacture in the two liter cola bottles. this is really problematic since it is so mobile. signs of use include black teeth and scabs from picking. not so much a problem on the coasts, but rampant here in the midwest.

Re: Meth lab
I don't have anything to add regarding the meth lab but I have to say that apart from the Police car?
That's a nice picture of your neighborhood, it gives us a perspective of where you will be living.

and here is looking out from third floor window to the front looking down toward main street.

Here is the street view minus the police car and not quite showing our house since it is the one the police car is closest too

Around here Pot is king. My neighbor told me shortly after we moved in that he was an Iron Artist, sculpting works out of Iron. I thought this was odd as I didn't see any evidence of welding equipment or any evidence that he ever left his house. Then last
summer I was chatting with another neighbor and mentioned this story. The other neighbor just laughed a huge belly laugh
and exclaimed that I must have been smoking the same stuff that my neighbor is if I believed his story about sculpting from
Iron. My other neighbor said that he sells Dope. Well a couple of months after that revelation I was driving by an empty house
on my rural route and noticed it was surrounded by Police tape. Again I asked my neighbor and they told me the house was
a "Grow Op" and had been busted by the cops after a tip off from the Power Utility. There is just no escaping this kind of Scum.

Re: Meth lab
Seems to be common everywhere. When my brother moved they found two 75W mercury vapour lamps and were instantly convinced the previous tenants had to be pot growers. I politely reminded them of the fact that one of the lamps was directly across the front door. Far more likely used for gum trees and other decorational plants rather than any illegal crop.

Oh...well I should probably recognize that smell, I have 4 ferrets that use kitty litter boxes.Neighmond wrote:KathyJB wrote:We were told you can sometimes find gas cans around meth labs. I wonder what it smells like? I bet there is one around here somewhere.
It smells like a filthy cat sandbox, or sometimes babby formula.

Re: Meth lab
I have to agree with Angolito.
I just don't understand why people would even want to try meth, the ingredients alone are scary. I know a few families around here that like their pot, I have no problem with that. I also know that my kids have a friend whose mom and grandma (just moved across the street and down two houses from us) are horribly into meth (per gossip). Judging by their appearance/behavior they ARE on something, just not sure exactly what.
