You fail to notice that although the rest of the streets have been a four way stops, the one you are on is only a two way stop, because you are to involved in drooling over houses you found while going down an unfamiliar street on a whim.

I realized my mistake as soon as I went to pull out in front of oncoming traffic! Thankfully I always make sure the other person stops before going

You spend your Sunday afternoon/early evening digging through a dumpster trying to pull out door frame parts and trim from underneath debris and broken bricks (a lot of broken bricks), then load it into the car/onto the roof rack. As you get home you realise that you need to clean up half the cellar to store it temporarily until it can meet its future destination, our farm house... the next day you pass the very same dumpster on your way to university, find broken trim with old hinges and grab tools as soon as you get home. At 7:30 PM after your last course of the day you go there in pouring rain and try to remove the hinges. And yes, I succeeded!
The bad thing with electricity : it almost always works.

The cordless drill is never on the work bench but finds a new hang out in the bed room, the bath room etc. Where ever the work is being done.

Too bad the spam got so bad. Some of us have been spending time at the new community for folks with a love of old houses at wavyglass.org

...you're at the big box store buying tools and supplies for skim-coating walls when you put a 90 degree right-angle corner trowel in the cart, only to remove it a couple minutes later when you realise your house doesn't have any 90-degree corners...

...also when every room in the house has its own stash of masking tape, razor blades, putty knives, and sharpies.

Or your picnic table has painted lines on it the same size as your storm window frame.

...when the calming smells of fresh paint and skim coat curing is your aromatherapy - forget scented candles and oil diffusers.

...when you are mad at your car or just got in an argument with your significant other, and the first thing you do to calm yourself down is search the house for something "new" to tear off.

...when you walk up the hill to the cemetery to visit and maintain the graves of your house's original family (utopia13 you aren't the only one to do this!).
