What style is this house?
I plan to make any renovations we do period correct. Although I will keep the crown molding.
I plan to strip paint and bring back the wood. I don't believe any homes in 1890s painted their wood work.
Re: What style is this house?
To me this looks like a cross between the American Foursquare and Queen Anne styles. The main thing to pay attention to in restoration is checking which materials were available at the time the house was constructed. You can also potentially gain tax credits/refunds for restoring the house appropriately. Let me know if you need any more help!

Definitely see elements of Queen Annes.
Would love to do work on a beautiful home like this.

My first thought was that it had Queen Anne elements too. I do think it has some influence of something else. Seems too early for Tudor. My next thought was that the metal detailed posts, especially next to that wood detail, and the stone are probably not original.

This is a shingle style house. Here's some information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shingle_s ... chitecture I would say it is a little more rare than other types of Victorian architecture.

I don't know what style it is, but it looks really good.
