Replacing lvl post with cedar tree.

We added a dormer which required a 4x4 lvl post that is supported by a metal column in the basement( giant footer poured under slab in this location.

We didn't have the funds to match our existing posts.
We now have a 10" diameter (30" around) cedar tree available.
I am curious about the structural strength. My gut tells me that a tree like this is stronger than a 4x4 lvl post .
