Hi All-
We're restoring a 1916 house with a stone foundation. The foundation is stone with an old white parged coating on the basement interior. The basement is dry. The parge is in good shape but chipped in a few places and discolored in areas. We'd like to freshen the surface (for aesthetics). We're using period and green materials throughout the house (hydraulic lime mortar, etc.) and don't want to apply something that will create a moisture barrier or other issues. Would applying a typical latex paint to the interior basement (parged) wall be fine, or should we explore alternatives?
Thanks!
