Tounge and Grove Floor

Post by 40sPigFarm »

New to Forum...I have a 1944 farm house in Florida.
It has heart pine tounge and groove flooring throughout. Its nailed straight to the joist (no sub floor under it.. It's in pretty bad shape the gaps are large in traffic areas. The joist are on 20" centers. So the floor flexes some. My thought is to just cover it with Advantech or similar product to stiffen it up. Thoughts on this? Moisture barrier needed?
