Hi all,
Moved into our house (built 1923) last August and finally getting around to trying to figure some things out... in the basement, I have several sections of beams that are covered in what appear to be a paper-like insulation, plaster-paper-like almost, covered in tin or some other kind of sheet metal... any chance this could be asbestos?

Had a full inspection done before moving in by a reputable local inspector. Also, why is this "insulation" and metal there? My best guess is that there used to be some kind of steam/stovepipe running underneath it.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Asbestos?
