Begonia - Rex Begonia, Iron Cross Begonia
Begonia - Rex Begonia, Iron Cross Begonia
Many begonias may be grown for their decorative foliage. Most do well with medium light intensity or try an east or west window. Keep the soil evenly moist when the plants are actively growing but allow resting plants to dry slightly between waterings. Fertilize active plants with an equal analysis fertilizer at recommended rates. Begonias give best growth at temperatures of 70 degrees with a small drop at night. Keep the temperature above 55 degrees and repot in March. Browning leaf margins may indicate a need for higher humidity.
Propagation is by seeds, division, rhizome cuttings and leaf stem cuttings.
