Citrus

Different types of citrus may be grown as house plants. Most require full sun or at least 4 hours of sun with bright light the rest of the day. The soil pH needs to be between 6 and 6.5. Allow the soil surface to dry between waterings but avoid excessive dryness in summer. Fertilize weekly from May to September. Ideal temperatures are 70 degrees during the day and 50 to 55 degrees at night. Repot and prune in March, if needed.

Propagation is by cuttings of half ripe wood taken in spring or early summer. Plants may also be raised from seed.
