Red twigged dogwood has bright red winter twig coloration. It tolerates most light exposures and moist soils. The plant grows to 8 feet tall and 10 feet wide. The growth rate is slow, especially after transplanting, and the root system produces suckers.
Three cultivars are listed: 'flaviramea'--greenish yellow twigs; 'kelseyi'--low growing, compact, 24 to 30 inches tall; 'nitida'--green twigs.
