This shrub grows well in some spots but a short distance away may do poorly. The plants grow 2 to 3 feet tall and bear pink flowers quite early. They are followed by red berries. Daphne is poisonous and hard to transplant.
There are several varieties: 'alba'--white flowers and yellow fruit; 'plena'('alba plena')--flowers white and double; 'grandiflora'--flowers purple and early, grows to 6 feet, can bloom in autumn.
