Annual pinks are easy to grow, are useful for edging, and as a source of cut flowers. They like fertile, well drained soil and a sunny location. Remove old flowers as they fade for best bloom production. Dianthus responds to fertilizer during the growing and blooming period. The plants are eight to twelve inches tall and are spaced eight to twelve inches apart.
The seed germinates in 5 to 10 days at 70 degrees.
