The flowers of this witch-hazel are yellow and slightly fragrant. The sepals are purplish.
There are a few cultivars: 'arborea'--yellow petals, leaves larger; 'flavopurpurescens'--red flowers(several named cultivars have been selected from this variety); 'zuccarininana'--small flowers three weeks later, a vigorous shrub.
