Heliopsis grows best in ordinary soil and with an exposure of sun or light shade. The plant is easy to grow and is a good source of cut flowers. They grow three and a half feet tall and are spaced 18 inches apart. The plants start late in the spring so their growing site should be marked. Self seeded volunteer plants may become weeds.
Propagation is by division, made in the fall. The seed germinates in 10 to 15 days at 70 degrees.
