Daylilies are useful, tolerant plants which produce flowers on tall stems. The plants form large clumps and may be used as a ground cover. Flowers are in a wide range of colors. They grow in any moist, well-drained soil of average fertility and in sun or light shade. If planted in light soil they prefer light shade. Winter protection is suggested and planting may be done in spring or fall.

Propagation is by seed or division. The seed germinates in 20 to 25 days outdoors or in a cold frame.
