This fungus disease can be a serious problem on iris in wet seasons.

The disease overwinters in infected leaf tissue. Low pH soils may favor disease development.

The main symptom is brown spots surrounded by yellow tissue. The spots enlarge, become oval and have a reddish brown border. Moderate infections may be confined to the upper half of the leaf. During heavy infections the leaves may be destroyed. Repeated infections may weaken and kill the plants.

Remove the infected leaves. Chlorothalonil may be use to control the disease.
