This iris is a small early blooming plant that likes a sunny site with a well drained soil. The flowers of these 2 inch plants are purple or pale blue and the leaves grass- like. The plants benefit from bone meal applied at planting and after bloom.

The bulbs are planted in September, 4 inches deep and 4 to 5 inches apart. Put a little sand in the bottom of each hole. Division is done in September with immediate replanting.
