Kochia grows three feet tall and changes color late in the growing season. During summer the plant is green but in late summer it changes to crimson. Any check in growth causes premature coloring. Provide a sunny exposure and do not allow the soil to get too dry.
Propagation is by seed. Young seedlings may be grown in peat pots to avoid excessive root injury or the seed can be sown directly into the garden.
