Lilium - Easter Lily, Forced Hardy Lily

Precooled lily bulbs are forced for late winter or spring bloom. A sunny growing area is necessary. Water when the soil surface is dry and avoid dryness during the early stages of growth. No fertilizer is required before flowering, then fertilize regularly until the leaves yellow. Ideal temperatures are 60 to 65 degrees during the day and 55 to 60 degrees at night. Precool bulbs by putting them in a plastic bag with moist peat moss and refrigerating them at 40 degrees for 6 weeks. After cooling, they may be potted up for the 5 to 8 week forcing period. After flowering, water and fertilize until the leaves turn yellow. Plant bulbs outside, 4 inches deep, in a sunny location once growth has matured and the weather warmed
