Mealybugs can be recognized by the flaky covering of gray, white or pink wax over their entire bodies. They are soft-bodied, 4 to 12 mm long, and they move slowly. All mobile life stages appear similar except for their size. Mealybugs can be found feeding on stems, shoots or leaves of susceptible plants. They have many natural enemies that usually keep populations under control.
