Grape hyacinth bears purple or white flowers resembling upside down grape clusters. The plants grow three to eight inches high and benefit from bone meal applied at planting and after blooming. They are easy to grow and adapt to any well drained soil in sun or partial shade. The flowers last longer in partial shade. The leaves may start growth in the fall.
Plant the bulbs 3 inches deep and 3 to 4 inches apart. The bulbs may be divided in the fall and replanted immediately.
