Phoenix roebelinii - Date Palm, Pygmy Date Palm

Date palm requires a medium light intensity or indirect sunlight. Keep the soil moist except in winter when it can be a little drier. Use a dilute liquid fertilizer once a week in summer. The plant can get fairly large and requires a temperature range of from 60 to 85 degrees. If repotting is needed do so in March. Sponge the leaves regularly to remove dust. The leaf tips may turn brown under low humidity.

Propagation is by offsets removed and potted up in spring or summer.
