List of files and visuals associated with this text.

Plant bugs and leafhoppers are small green insects that often occur together on honeylocust.

The insects overwinter as eggs that were laid in woody tissue. The adults are present from late May until early July. Only one generation occurs each year.

The injury becomes most apparent by the end of June or early July. The leaflets are speckled and distorted. If the infestation is heavy the leaves will drop and plants may be completely bare except at the branch tips.

The leafhoppers can be controlled with Diazinon or Orthene.
