Wandering jew is a suitable plant for a hanging pot. It grows in medium light intensity but the purple leaf coloration is more pronounced in stronger light. Keep the soil evenly moist or allow slight drying between waterings. Make weekly applications of dilute fertilizer when the plant is actively growing. Ideal temperatures are between 60 and 80 degrees. The plant may be pinched to encourage branching.
Propagation is by cuttings.
The stem may shrivel up near the soil line while the end of the affected branch appears normal. The probable cause for this problem is improper care.
