Balustrades: Stone light

These balustrades are designed to have the look and feel of natural stone without all that weight. They're made of composite materials that include marble dust, resins and polymers, with a little fiberglass added for extra strength.
The company's Cambridge line shown here, is offered with matching newel posts and center posts and in three heights -- 28, 36 and 42 inches. They are shipped ready to accept paint, which is needed as protection against ultraviolet rays.
Pacific Columns Company offers a limited lifetime warranty against defects or decay. Cost for the 36" railing is about $154 per linear foot (September 2004).
