Cabinetry: Glass act

Reviewed by:

Take your pick of lead, copper, nickel or brass mullions for these custom-made stained glass inserts, designed for cabinet doors. Choose from dozens of different colors, patterns and types of glass, such as seeded glass (so-named for its tiny air bubbles), mouth blown (shimmers in the light), or wavy glass (reminiscent of the early 1900s).

Mix and match different glass, color and metal combinations and create the panel that suits your tastes. For the budget-conscious, another option is "True Trim," with metal mullions overlaid on art glass (shown in photo). Instead of measurements, the manufacturer prefers a paper tracing of your cabinet's door frame. Prices start at $141 (November 2004).
