Cabinetry: Some assembly required

Imagine putting together a kitchen full of cabinets with only a screwdriver and wrench. These "ready-to-assemble" base and wall cabinets are offered with solid wood doors and drawer fronts in either face frame or frameless style.

Choose from red or white oak, knotty pine, ash, yellow birch, hickory, maple, cherry or alder. Cabinet sides and shelves are available in 5/8" or 3/4" thermofused melamine, finished in a natural a maple color. European-style hinges and other hardware is easily installed with predrilled holes.

An unfinished 36" two-door, one- drawer base cabinet in maple costs $378 (October 2004).
