Chandeliers: Hanging Library Oil Lamp

Reviewed by:
Rosemary Thornton
Known as a Hanging Library Lamp, this vintage fixture dates to the 1880s. The excesses of the Victorian era are reflected in its intricate and ornate solid brass frame. Cut-glass prisms (in both clear and amber glass) adorn the lamp's shade.

There'll be no wiring worries, because this fully restored lamp is fueled by kerosene.

  • 1880s Hanging Library Kerosene Oil Lamp is $2,850(March 2006).
