Composters: Waste Not

Reviewed by:
Rosemary Thornton
Keep vegetable peelings and kitchen scraps out of the waste stream with the Scrap Eater, a composter which doubles as a solid oak garden planter.

An acrylic bubble on top provides solar heat to aid with composting and also creates water condensation. Plants grow in a ring of soil in the outer perimeter, with their roots tapping into the composted matter. Every few days, you can add your food scraps and then stir with the stainless steel crank (included).

When the composter is full, the composted material can be removed and used as plant fertilizer.
