If you've ever watched a toddler stumbling around the sharp edges of a raised fireplace hearth, you'll appreciate the Bumper Pad from the Victorian Fireplace Shop. The soft cushion fits on the outside edges of the hearth and adjusts to fit hearths up to 90" long and 16" deep. The flame-resistant pad sells for $149 (July 2004).
