Floor Cloths: Historic patterns

Reviewed by:
Rosemary Thornton
A historic home in Dorchester, Massachusetts was the inspiration for the stencil pattern on this floor cloth. Other patterns offered by this company are based on designs discovered in old New England homes. Floor cloths are made with heavy canvas (#8 cotton duck) and then primed, painted and sealed with several layers of polyurethane. The edges are hemmed and a waffle pad is glued to the floor cloth's underside.

Shown is a 2' by 3' floor cloth, priced at $180. Custom sizes, shapes, colors and patterns can be special ordered. Lead time (for stock patterns) is about two weeks (April 2005).
